Making Impacts Beyond Boundaries…
Our Current Projects
Kon Tum Residential Facilities
We continue to support three residential facilities that house children ages 5-18. A major focused is on the girls from ethnic minority families in the area. The centers are in a remote area in the Central Highlands of Vietnam. The girls generally come from families with many children (upwards of 10+), whose parents cannot financially care for them. The centers focus on caring for children to maximize the impact of their work since the families follow a matriarchal social system. This means that these girls will carry the burden of both domestically and financially caring for their families. The girls go to local schools and are taught to read and write in the Kinh (Vietnamese) language.
Thien An Social Service Institution
In the Mekong Delta area, the southern part of Vietnam, houses children from newborn to 18 years of age, two-thirds of whom are orphaned from birth, while a third are from families with too many children and are unable to care for them. The majority of kids from this latter category are from the central ethnic minorities, while kids from the former category are from all parts of the country. The center is funded entirely through private donations to support the children’s food, lodging, and, most importantly, schooling
